*LES MISERABLES - UPDATE*

Due to the recent developments with the latest outbreak of Omicron cases, Tauranga Musical Theatre has made the difficult decision to cancel our season of Les Misérables, which was due to open on 4 February 2022.

We are absolutely heartbroken that this decision has had to be made.  We were due to stage Les Misérables in September 2020, then August 2021, and now February 2022.  To be so close is incredibly tough to take for our talented and hardworking cast and crew.  We were so excited to be able to stage this bucket list show at Baycourt.

If you are a ticket holder for the season, and you would like a refund, Ticketek will be able to process this and will be in touch shortly.

If you would like to donate the value of (or a portion of) your ticket to assist Tauranga Musical Theatre in recouping some of our unrecoverable costs, please transfer an amount that you feel comfortable with to our bank account.  We would be most grateful.

We appreciate the support that our community continues to provide during what is an incredibly challenging time for the arts.

However, rest assured – even the darkest night will end, and the sun will rise.

Synopsis:

27 years after first bringing Les Misérables to Baycourt, Tauranga Musical Theatre is thrilled to present a brand new, reimagined production of Les Misérables.

Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France, Les Misérables tells an enthralling story of adversity, broken dreams and

unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption – a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. This epic and uplifting story has become one of the most celebrated musicals in theatrical history.

Featuring one of the greatest scores of all time played live by a 14 piece orchestra, this brand new production features all the beloved songs including I Dreamed A Dream, On My Own, Stars, Bring Him Home, One Day More, Do You Hear the People Sing and many more!

It has been seen in 44 countries and translated into 22 languages around the globe. Les Misérables is still the world’s most popular musical, breaking box office records everywhere it plays.
